| WHY: |
The
purpose of the Fathers Seeking Change Breakfast is to help area
fathers use the services of the WorkMatters Project and Baltimore's
Career Center Network to improve their employability skills and
find better jobs.
Those who attend will learn how to cope positively with choices,
challenges, and changes in everyday life, and how to become more
responsible parents to their children. These fathers will have an
opportunity to speak with representatives from the United Parcel
Services (UPS), who will be on hand to talk about current career
opportunities with the company. To promote holistic services for
men, Maximus has also been included on the breakfast program to
discuss the child support system and how to effectively navigate
their services.
Breakfast organizers expect between 75 - 100 fathers to attend.
The target audience for Saturday's event - the first of several
breakfast conferences planned - is men living in and around the
East Baltimore area who are having trouble making child support
payments and need help obtaining new job skills. However, anyone
interested in attending the event or seeking information about services
should call WorkMatters at (410) 396-6553.
